What's a writer to do?

Years ago, I met with other writers  for a Newbery Reading Club to read and discuss Newbery Award books.  While breaking bread together, we shared about the assigned book, critiqued the book, shared about our current projects, then cheered and encouraged each other on this wonderful writing journey. 

Twice a year I go on a retreat.  I learned this from the Master.  Everyone needs time alone to be silent.  I pray, walk, sit on a front porch and think.  Then I write, write, and write some more. Oh, and I eat chocolate and drink coffee.

Meeting at my favorite library with my writing critique partner to work on our stories and visiting with the library staff, are  essential to my writing excitement and completing my writing goals. I also meet with a wonderful group of writers every month to review each other's stories.
